Government Polytechnic College, Vandiperiyar.P.O, Idukki is the second professional (Diploma level) College in Idukki district established by the Government of Kerala in the year 1998 . The higher education sector bloomed as a result of this venture. Spread in an area of scenic 10 acres of land, this institute stands as a stalwart for the deimages/acblock1.jpgvelopment of the district. A three-and half hour road journey from Kottayam will get you to the campus. The campus is situated in close proximity to the cool and picturesque environs of Periyar Tiger Reserve sanctuary.

The institution offers Engineering Diploma courses in three disciplines namely Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Application & Business Management. Currently the infrastructure of the College is spread in 10 acres campus at 62nd Mile Vandiperiyar. Here, the administrative block of area 981 sq.m, is situated , where the office, Library, Conference Hall and classes of the final year are functioning. The academic block of area 1222 sq.m, where the class rooms, Computer lab, Electronics lab and staff rooms are working. Also another building of 672sq.m, where the class rooms for first year, Mechanical Workshop, Science lab are working. We have constructed the ladies hostel under MHRD project assistance. Govt. of Kerala has sanctioned funds for the construction of buildings and hostel for the college.In order to fulfill our mission we have to improve our laboratories, workshops and renovate the existing structure so that we can mold good technocrats and hence the upliftment of rural and backward people of this district Idukki.
